Hive Dollar Climbed 237% And Actually Banked Some Of It

The Stablecoin That Forgot To Stay Still
The broad market spent October 17, 2026 doing what it does best lately, which is nothing much while the small caps earned their keep. And on a day like that, the headline act came from a name you would not expect to find headlining anything: Hive Dollar.
A dollar. In the name. A thing whose entire job description is to sit perfectly still. Instead it decided to go for a walk.
Hive Dollar Takes The Scenic Route
Here is the setup. Hive Dollar, ticker HBD, a micro-cap that most people file under "stablecoin" and promptly forget, lit up over the course of the day with a detected move of 237.4%. Nearly two and a half times. A stablecoin, in the loosest possible sense, deciding to behave like a meme.

That is the kind of number that usually comes with a catch. A big flare, then a slow exhale, then a chart that ends more or less where it started and pretends nothing happened. The market loves to hand you a spike and quietly take it back.
Hive Dollar did not do that. When the day wrapped, it still held a gain of 15.6%. Not the full 237, nowhere close, but a genuine finish in the green rather than the usual trip to nowhere. On a day this littered with disappointments, a coin that kept a real chunk of its move is practically a rebel. Sentiment, for what it's worth, leaned firmly toward the upside here, and that read actually landed, which on this particular day made it something of a collector's item.
Among the day's unusual moves, 52 played out one way or another, and 5 were confirmed pump and dumps. Hive Dollar was in neither of the painful categories. It just climbed, cooled, and clocked a win.
Everyone Else Had A Rougher Afternoon
The rest of the board was less kind. HoodPork flared 214.3% across the day and then, with a shrug, closed down 1.3%, all that motion to end a whisker below where it began. astronaut, true to recent form, shot up 169.2% before the floor opened and left it down 71.1%, a confirmed pump and dump and the day's cleanest example of a launch that forgot to pack a landing. Elsewhere the large and mid caps bled in orderly fashion: Celestia slipped 5.8%, B3 eased 6.6%, SuperVerse took the worst of the bunch at 11.7%, MiL.k gave back 7.8%, Solv Protocol and Sui each shed around 3%, and Arbitrum trimmed 4.8%. Forta leaked 22.5%. And Commander Vrax, in the day's bleakest single line, went to zero, down a flat 100%, which is about as final as a chart gets.
One Green Candle, A Lot Of Red
So the tally, if you want it blunt: one micro-cap stablecoin threw the loudest party and was also among the very few still standing when the music stopped. The rockets cratered, the mid caps leaked, and a coin named after a dollar was the one that actually behaved like money, just a lot more excitable than its job description allows.
What nobody can say yet is whether Hive Dollar's little adventure was a one-off or the start of a habit. A stablecoin that posts a 237% intraday swing and keeps 15.6% of it is not behaving the way the label promises, and the tape offers no hint about which direction the next flare goes. For now it sits there, green, having done the rarest thing on the board: it meant it.
