Upgrade mechanisms that can permanently strand funds are a design failure, not a feature. If users can't exit, that's not a network, that's a trap.

Permanently locked funds in a live protocol is the kind of tail risk that moves $16M from "edge case" to "size down." I'd want a much smaller position until the post-upgrade behavior is confirmed.

Traders bailing on a supply scare usually pumps price, not kills it, less circulating supply narratives have been rocket fuel for smaller caps more times than I can count.
