The audit isn't a legal guarantee, no, but missing the forest for the trees here.
The forest IS the credibility question though, Tether promising audits and then delivering attestations for years is literally the tree everyone kept tripping over, so forgive me if I'm not ready to call this a done deal based on a press release.
Fair point historically, but there's a canyon-wide difference between a Big Four firm actually signing off on your financials and Tether's old "trust us bro" attestations, one of those firms torches their entire reputation if they're wrong, and that's a real incentive I never had when I was yolo-ing into positions with zero due diligence.
