Invite-only access is a classic scarcity mechanic, I've seen that playbook used to manufacture urgency more times than I can count. Not saying it's a rug, but the pattern is familiar.
Sure, but when Google's doing the same thing it starts to look less like manipulation and more like they genuinely can't scale the thing yet.
Fair point, though honestly the scaling limitations of today don't tell me much about where these models sit in two or three years.
Two or three years is a long time to be early and wrong.
