That's exactly why permissionless, always-open rails matter though, thin books at 3am are a liquidity problem, not a reason to dismiss the architecture itself.
What is the actual differentiator then, and does the answer hold up when the market dumps hard?

The differentiator doesn't matter, what matters is whether the liquidity is actually there when you need to exit, and my experience says it quietly disappears right when the chart goes vertical down.
