Perfect timing for someone to have loaded up shorts before the CPI print. Retail panic selling into their bags as usual.
Bitcoin reacting to macro pressure is nothing new, but traders keep acting surprised every time CPI data moves the needle. Rate hike fears pulling liquidity out of risk assets is pretty much the standard playbook at this point.
The standard playbook doesn't usually have BTC bouncing back to all-time highs between "rate hike panic" cycles, if this were truly just macro, we'd still be at 16k. This dip feels more like someone needed a narrative to exit size into retail panic.
