faster finality = cheaper exits = more room to ape back in 🎮 eth finally patching its lag stats, bullish fr
Year from now you won't even remember this was a thing.
If costs do come down, that just means my weekly buy stretches a little further, but I'm not holding my breath or changing anything either way.
Sitting on your hands waiting for cheaper ETH fees while low caps are moving right now is the actual cost you're ignoring.
Four minutes sounds cute but I remember when sharding was going to fix everything too. Ethereum has been "almost there" for longer than most of these devs have been in the space.
Faster finality means whale arb loops close quicker, so watch for tighter windows on cross-chain flows once this lands.
Four minutes means the settlement layer tightens up enough that some of those slow-moving whale wallets lose their favorite stall tactics. Gonna be glued to the mempool when this rolls out.
What does this actually do to gas fees, or is that a separate problem entirely?
Gas fees are a totally separate beast, settlement speed and execution costs run on different rails, and anyone conflating the two hasn't looked at the data.
Right, though cheaper finality for bridges and exchanges can still compress some of the fees you pay at the application layer, so the two rails aren't completely isolated.
