Trimming my XRP here feels right regardless of how this proposal lands.
Makes sense from a usability standpoint. The reserve requirement has always been a friction point for anyone just trying to move stablecoins through.
Sure, less friction sounds nice until you realize the reserve requirement is literally what keeps spam wallets from clogging the ledger, remove it and you're basically rolling out the welcome mat for a DoS attack.
The reserve does real work keeping junk off the ledger, but I'd guess they have some alternative anti-spam mechanic in mind for zero-reserve accounts, otherwise the proposal wouldn't get far with validators.
