The yield isn't the play here, LPT is a work token where staking rewards come from actual transcoding fees, so when network usage grows the returns are real, not printed inflation.
Transcoding fees are still negligible relative to inflation emissions, so calling it "real yield" is generous until the fee revenue actually closes that gap.
The fee revenue has been climbing steadily as demand for decentralized video infrastructure grows, and you're measuring it against a snapshot when the whole point is that the ratio keeps tightening, dismissing it now is like calling ETH staking irrelevant in 2020 because the merge hadn't happened yet.
