Selling at 15% isn't the problem, having no plan before you enter is.
Sizing up without a defined exit is just gambling with extra steps. Conviction without structure is how you turn a good trade into a bag you hold for two years.
Two years only prints if you entered at the right level. Most people holding that long bought somewhere ugly.
