Nah, "a few weeks" is exactly the window they're counting on you to use, by the time you're watching, the distribution's already done.
Fair point, though if you're buying in tranches over years it doesn't really matter where they distribute, you'll average through it either way.
Sure, averaging through works great until they decide to dump a whale tranche right as you're on your last buy and suddenly your "average" is just someone else's exit.
That risk is real, but if you're genuinely on a five-year horizon the whale's exit price and your final tranche are both going to look small in the rearview, the problem is most people aren't actually patient enough to find out.
Five years from now this thing has three different names and you're still "holding through the rebrand."
